As per the new travel guideline, which was announced on the 4th of March, the increase in fresh cases of COVID–19 in the Tamil Nadu state government has made the E-Pass essential for traveling anywhere in India.

What are the restrictions and guidelines issued by the government of Telangana?

Everyone knows that the count of COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu state is increasing rapidly. To break the chain of these cases, the government has to issue fresh COVID–19 guidelines which will be implemented from May 17, 2021, onwards. Here are the guidelines you have to follow.

  • Every ATM, petrol pump, pharmacy, and natural medical store will operate normally.
  • Night curfew will be applicable daily.
  • On Sunday, a complete lockdown will continue to be in force.
  • E-Commerce services will operate from 2 PM to 6 PM.
  • Tea shops are not permitted to operate.
  • Pavement shops that used to sell perishable goods like flowers, vegetables, and fruits are not prohibited.
  • Previously vegetables, grocery, meat, and other shops are allowed to operate till noon, but now they can only work from 6 am to 10 am and only with 50% occupancy.
  • Only for mandatory activities like marriages, medical treatment, funerals, etc., will people permit to travel after filling out the form on the official website.
  • E-Pass registration is also made mandatory for inter-district and international and interstate passengers.

Tamil Nadu Inter District E-Pass

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu announced last week that now e-pass will be issued to individuals within 24 hours of time frames for inter-district travel.

Yet, the Tamil Nadu government is issuing passes for ongoing government work, government tender bidding, close relative death, medical emergency, marriage, etc.

However, now passes will only be issued to the people who wish to return back to home and are stuck in other districts of India. For travel via private vehicles, a Tamil Nadu e-pass is necessary.

How to register for the Tamil Nadu e-pass?

  • To apply for the inter–district instant approval e-pass, you have to visit the official website.
  • On the web page, you must enter your mobile number and the CAPTCHA code, which appears on the screen.
  • Now enter the OTP option, and you will get an SMS with the OTP code.
  • Enter the code located on the screen and offer all information asked on the net.
  • Now apply to preview complete details.
  • Once submitted, you will get an approval message within 24 hours of submission.
